Field Representative Phil Loomans
Saputo Field Representative, Phil Loomans understands the importance of milk quality to our members. “I feel milk quality and milk composition are very important when it comes to being a dairy producer.”
Phil has been very instrumental in the culturing program at Saputo. He works with the Waupun Veterinary Service and producers to help interpret the results from a culture to better understand the cow, her environment and the milking procedure used by a producer.
Phil has been involved in the dairy industry all his life. He grew up on a small farm in Fairwater, WI. In 1974 he began farming 200 acres and milking 60 Holsteins. In 1983 he began milking 3 times a day. In 1996, Phil and his wife Lynette took their 60-cow herd and joined a large 550-cow dairy in the neighboring area. He and his wife helped to manage the herd until 1998 when he began to work as a Field Service Representative. Phil and his wife also custom raise heifers for a large dairy.
Phil calls on farms in Columbia, Dodge, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Jefferson, Ozaukee, Rock, Sheboygan, Walworth, Washington, Waukesha counties.
Besides his work at Saputo, Phil is involved in the community. He is an active member in their church singing in the choir and teaching Sunday school.
Phil says he tries to keep up on the latest issues in the dairy industry so that he can stay in tune with the industry and work with farmers.
