Laboratory Services

At Saputo we take great pride in our Laboratory and Quality Analysis by testing our dairy producer’s milk for butterfat, protein, lactose, other solids, somatic cell count and bacteria.

Because dairy producers are paid for their milk based on component testing and milk quality analysis, we strive to be an industry leader by using the highest quality testing procedures in our State Certified "in-house" laboratory. Our laboratory operated by highly trained personal provide dairy producers with accurate results and rapid turn around on a variety of milk quality tests that are used while troubleshooting with field staff on the farm.

Our lab machines are calibrated each morning and checked hourly to maintain accuracy of results in accordance with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection regulations.

Milk Component Test

Test Information:
Protein, butterfat and other solids are tested.

Plate Loop Count Test

Test Information:
Run twice per month for payment purpose and additional special requests.

Observe and monitor performance of your Clean in Place (CIP) system.

Cow Milk Sample

*There is a $2 charge for each cow sample

Test Information:
Antibiotic and SCC Testing.

Cryoscope Test

Test Information:
Daily check of milk freezing point.

Milk Urea Nitrogen Test

Test Information:
Daily.
Benefit to dairy producers:
Balance protein utilization in a cow ration to monitor nitrogen levels in milk.

Other Milk Quality Tests

Test Information:
Direct Microscope Counts, Coliform Counts, Pasteurized Loop Counts, Preliminary Incubation Counts are available tests.
